Main Window Taskbar Disc Window Logging Window

Main Window

The main window contains the menu bar, the taskbar and three inner windows. The inner windows can be rearranged to fit best in the main window using the "Configuration -> Rearrange Windows" menu item, the corresponding button in the taskbar or the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+R.

Taskbar

You can access the most needed functions of JeFCo through the taskbar: These are:

Request All information about unknown disks from the database servers.
Loads files with requests and/or collected disc information from a file.
Saves all request/disc information to the JeFCo request file.
Imports disc information from freedb format file(s).
Exports disc information to freedb format file(s).
Edit the information of the selected request/disc.
Delete the selected request/disc.
Submits the currently selected disc to freedb sites.
Get the currently inserted disc.
Rearranges the inner windows to fit good into the main window.

Database Window

Database Window
In this window you can see a tree with all of your stored data:
The first tree node "Collected Outstanding Requests" contains all disc requests that are stored but not fulfilled by a database server. The node's title shows also the count of such requests. If you expand it you see a list of the disc requests. Because the titles of the discs are not known, the names reflect only an index used to identify the disc. To get more information about the requests you can either expand the request node or click on it to show the information in the Disc Window.
The second node "Local Stored Disc Information" contains all discs for which the title information is available in JeFCo. The node's title shows also the count of disc entries. Expand it to see a disc list sorted by the title. Expand the disc node to see information about the disc length, the genre and the song count. You can also expand the song node to see all song titles and lengths. If you click on the disc entry you get a complete description of this disc with all information in the Disc Window.
If you right-click on a request or disc entry in the Database Window you get a context menu for this disc. Here you can delete an entry, request a single disc, export a single disc information to a file or edit the disc information:

If you edit a request and enter the disc title and all track titles this request moves to the "Local Stored Disc Information"-node. The next time this disc is requested by your cd player application, this information is propagated. The extended disc data (the entry field 'Extended Data') and the extended track data (the fields below the disc title fields) may be used to store additional data like the composer or the date of publication and is not sent to your cd player application.

Disc Window

Disc Window
The Disc Window displays all available information about the disc or the request that is selected in the Database Window. This includes title and track names, track count, disc and track times, genre, requester application information, statistics and so on. You can use the mouse to highlight this text and use your systems standard keyboard shortcut to copy this text to your clipboard.

Logging Window

Logging Window
The Logging Window shows you what JeFCo is doing. For example you can see in this window if a new request from a cd player application has been caught. The amount and detail of the messages that are displayed here can be chosen using the Loglevel Menu item. These messages can also be written to a file if you want to.
