This is a blog now! We moved our index page to blog*spot and use blogger as CMS for this page. Posts are done via web or w.bloggar. I copied the old news in the post below. This is a first step to the new releases we are planning for the near future.

011106 Bugfix Build 11106
Only a small bugfix version. Wait for JeFCo 0.5 released very soon if you don't have problems loding your stored requests.
011025 Preview Version 0.5
Bugfix release for NERO CD burning software. Version 0.5 will be released in November.
010620 new Version 0.4
The long awaited version 0.4 is out. Better in speed and stability. With new features. Check changelog.
010315 Birth of jesterware.org
We got a new home (as you know by now). And there will be a new version of JeFCo soon. With tons of new features.
Stay tuned ...
000530 may be be kaffe
Rob has BeKaffe sortof running. Not with JeFCo, but "hello world" and most of the tests are working. You can get it (without any docs) at http://software.freepage.de/jesterware/. Ad »/boot/apps/Kaffe/bin« to your path. Please note: This IS beta
To be continued
000522 Comming soon: BeOS (definitly maybe)
We are really impressed by BeOS' speed and GUI, but for now we could not test it with JeFCo. A Be JDK is announced since mid last year
but for now, everything is silence. We (i.e. Rob) are trying to compile Kaffe, but BeKaffe's Website has disappeared.
Is this an international conspiracy?
000522 Sonique
I should have mentioned it a long time ago: You can use JeFCo with Sonique (our personal favorite). All you need is copah's »CD Player« plug-in. You can get it at http://www.url.ru/~copah/. It supports better sound quality and CDDB.
991028 European Mirror
For some people here in Europe jesterware's main site is unusable slow.
You can find a mirror at http://home.nikocity.de/jesterware.
Another bonus: No ads!
991001 We are burning .gifs!
Undoubtless you have noticed, that an once well known computer manufacturer »demands $5k licence fee for use of gifs« on web pages (THE REGISTER). That company (I forgot the name) had posted a »Clarification« which makes nothing clear to me. I do not believe jesterware has to pay this license fee.
Nevertheless I am so annoyed I have erased all .gifs from our page using .png and .jpg instead.

990812 Fix for EasyCD
Only one fix in Build 812 to solve the crashing problem EasyCD had with JeFCo. To fix the odd query string problem of EasyCD and other players some sort of fuzzy logic is in developement.
990805 Linux Test Success
The new build 0801 fixed a problem with Linux. I've testet JeFCo with JRE 1.2 pre-2 ? no problems! You can request CDs collected with another OS, store data, request data. Made some new screenshots crossing the borders.
990805 New Players, New Docs
With the new build 0801 some player configurations were added to player.html. Unfortunately I found the first one crashing with JeFCo (EasyCD). No workaround yet, still investigating ? I added a docs page for some documentation nobody likes to write.
990525 First BETA aviable
We are proud to anounce the first beta release (and the new name) of JeFCo, the Jesterware freedb Collector. You find a ready to use jar file and a short howto on the software page. New builds will come frequently in the next weeks, so check often if you find this little tool usefull.
Please send bug reports and enthusiastic comments (and lots of presents) to Rob.
990516 First alpha screenshot
Just to show you that we are jesterware and not vaporware, you can find our first official alpha screenshot on the screenshots page.
990511 First public anouncement of FreeCDDBCollector
Coming soon (May 1999): first public beta of FreeCDDBCollector - If you are not always connected to the Internet
- The computer with the CD-Player is not connected to the Internet at all
- Sharing data between multiple/often changing CD-Players (even cross platform!)
- CD-Players who are only able to connect to (commercial) CDDB servers
- Proxy CDDB in LANs
- Share databases with friends with/without LAN
- Running on Windows/Unix/Mac
- Running with all good CD-Players (including WINAMP...)
990511 New Webmaster
Complete re-design (or first design) of Jesterware homepage by me.
Took this job from my brother. Initial banner by Rob.
HTML development 100% with Linux (a sometimes hurtfull experience):
Editor nedit, grafix with the gimp.
Nedit is really an excellent text editor, but I'm still looking for an usefull Linux html editor!
